ABOUT MANATEE RECORDS
Manatee Records is an internationally oriented Reggae and Dancehall label with offices in Chicago and Jamaica. The label was established in 1992 to give a platform to young, talented reggae artists with capacities for worldwide reach. Manatee Records and its subsidiary, Madd Dawgz Production, were behind the esteemed Virus Riddim Album on Greensleeves Records. Top Riddims on the Manatee imprint include Sattamasagana Riddim, Champagne Riddim, Yahoo Riddim, Level Vibez Riddim, Billboard Riddim, Boom Blast Riddim, Ginseng Riddim, Reggae Blues Riddim, and Virus Riddim. Today, Manatee Records is a champion in the US Urban Music arena, producing, marketing, and distributing major hip hop and reggae artists from the Midwest. Manatee Records is employing full throttle engagement for the new year. The label just released the single “Get Home” by Beadz (Beadz Jones), featuring Grammy nominated Layzie Bone of Bone Thugs N Harmony. Beadz’ other single “2 Shots of Patron” is still circulating through many Midwest radio airways including Sirius/XM Satellite Radio. Beadz’ upcoming singles include features from Chicago’s Twista and Miami’s acclaimed artist Jimi Nu. His song “Wild Out” featuring Atlanta’s Waka Flocka will add to his artist profile. Beadz has earned a notable following following his outstanding SXSW performance this past spring. Artist GBoy MostRequested hot Single “Why Why Why”, featuring Cheri Dennis from Atlantic Records, will be the next upcoming release on the Manatee Records label imprint. The song will provide a holistic perspective on one of Chicago’s talented rising stars who has built a name for himself through production and vocal artistry. He worked with Lil Bibby and Lil Herb, solidifying his space in the Chicago sound-sphere. GBoy Most Requested’s “Might Not Know My Name” was placed on the ATL Record Pool Conference Compilation CD along with DJ2Silk’s “Bangas”. Manatee’s artists continue grinding, soon releasing “Hunnas”by Coron JR and “Loud” by Ms. Meth (Krystal Meth). Manatee Records, the face of the Manatee Music Group, has worked with many premiere artists in promotions and marketing, including Boo (formerly with Lil Wayne’s Cash Money). Grammy nominated and awarded artists include gospel sensation VaShawn Mitchell, Reggae/ Percussion superstar MC Zulu, and actor/comedian Lamorne Morris. The label is now capitalizing on the platform it has established in this past decade to place artists at the top of the industry.
